Fredericton Arts Alliance to host Provincial Election Forum October 6, 2024

An election on arts issues organized by the Fredericton Arts Alliance (FAA) will take place on Sunday October 6 at 2:00 pm at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre. Members of the public are invited to attend.

The FAA has invited all parties who have held seats in the provincial legislature to each send one candidate to the forum. The event will be moderated by Tim Yerxa, Executive Director of the Fredericton Playhouse, and several parties have already confirmed their participation.

After opening statements, each candidate will respond to one of a series of prepared questions, followed by an opportunity for brief commentary by other participants. The assignment of questions and the speaking order will be by draw. There will also be an opportunity for questions from the floor, before closing remarks.

The FAA has held a forum on the arts for every election—federal, provincial, and municipal—since its founding in 1999.

“We encourage everyone to attend,” said Katie FitzRandolph. “It’s a great opportunity to hear from those seeking election on arts issues and also to demonstrate to them and their parties that the arts are important to Fredericton residents.”
